Breeze vs Buildertrend

Buildertrend covers every kind of builder. Breeze is the narrower alternative, on purpose.

Pricing

Buildertrend does not publish a price — their pricing page (buildertrend.com/pricing) asks about your builder type, your annual revenue and what you need, then sends you a custom quote. Breeze is waitlist-only, and its price is not final yet. The pricing page shows the number it is working toward, $99 a month as one flat rate with no per-seat fees, but there is no billing system built, so nothing can be charged and nothing is set at that rate. When the price is final it goes on that page, where you can read it without talking to anybody.

Your data, and getting it back out

This one is a commitment I can point at, not a comparison. Breeze has a button that says "Download all my data." Your records come out whole, as plain JSON — jobs, quotes, contracts, change orders, subs, settings. Your photos, PDFs and signed documents come with them, and every file Breeze holds for you is listed in a manifest whether or not its contents fit in that download, with a line saying why. So a partial export can never read like a complete one. Two things stay out on purpose and are named in the manifest anyway: a sub's W-9, because it carries somebody else's tax ID, and your own API keys, which show as redacted. Every role can press the button, not just the account owner. Nothing to pay, nobody to ask. Leaving with what you put in should not be a favor.

Setup and scope

Buildertrend is an all-in-one platform, and covering custom builders, remodelers, specialty trades and commercial GCs takes a lot of surface area. Breeze goes the other way on purpose: no RFIs, no submittals, no BIM. The guardrail is that a first quote should take under ten minutes, and anything that would push past that gets cut or moved to a screen you never have to open.

Client and sub experience

Buildertrend gives your client a portal account they sign into to follow schedules, budgets, selections and change orders. Breeze gives them a link. No app, no password, no "create an account to view your estimate." They open it, see Done / Now / Next, see what has been invoiced and what is still due, and approve a change order from their phone. Subs get the same thing — a token link to bid or read their scope, nothing to install.

Your client approves a change order from a link with no login. Worried about what happens if that text gets forwarded? Here is the straight answer, including the three things the link does not do.

Who Buildertrend is best for

Builders and remodelers with the volume and the office staff to get value out of a full platform — and who want their clients working inside it alongside them.

Who Breeze is best for

A solo or small-crew residential GC who wants a fast, itemized quote and a client experience nobody has to log into.

Breeze is still finishing the work that makes it ready for contractors outside Jeremy's own business — a sequencing choice, not a gap.
